The first player that could be on his way out of Salt Lake City is third-year forward Juwan Morgan. In his first two seasons in the league, he played a total of 50 games for the Jazz. However, with the arrival of Eric Paschall, who has proven that he can play the small-ball five effectively, it doesn’t make much sense to keep Morgan, who has struggled to adjust to that role.
The former Indiana Hoosier didn’t show much growth throughout the Summer League either.
In the Salt Lake City Summer League, he held his own averaging 6.7 points per game along with 6.3 rebounds in three games. However, against tougher competition in the Las Vegas Summer League, Morgan didn’t seem to ever find his groove, playing in only two games and averaging only 2.5 points per game on 28.6 percent shooting from the field.
It’s also worth noting that the Jazz didn’t extend Morgan a qualifying offer, as reported by Tony Jones of The Athletic. While that doesn’t rule out a return to the team, it does make it seem a lot less likely.
Utah Jazz training camp will look like. With new additions of veterans Rudy Gay, Eric Paschall, and Hassan Whiteside, the younger Jazzmen will have to battle it out for the spots at the end of the bench.

Utah is looking to improve after last season’s second-round exit. And while every player currently on the roster has shown flashes, the front office will have to stick with the players who fill their most glaring needs.

These decisions are never easy for coaches and general managers to make.

But after evaluating each player’s last season and Summer League performances, here’s our prediction for the least likely players to make the opening day roster.
