When Patrick Beverley was one of the players acquired in the Rudy Gobert to Minnesota deal, many saw him as a potentially valuable bench piece for a re-tool around Donovan Mitchell, but with the likelihood of Spida moving in the coming weeks or months, it means that Pat Bev is likely out the door too. Whether that’s via a trade or a buy out, keeping Beverley in Utah for a season where the team is likely to tank just makes absolutely no sense at all, and Beverley himself shared his thoughts on staying in Utah through a rebuild:
Given how effective Beverley has been on his last few teams, especially helping Minnesota break their playoff drought in 2021/22, there are plenty of teams that could use his leadership and defensive abilities this upcoming year, with teams like Philadelphia and the Lakers among the potential suitors.
If the Jazz acquired Beverley without moving either of their All-Stars, he’d be an incredible piece to give this team attitude and more defensive grit and hustle, but since they seem to be going the opposite way, late in Patrick’s career, this relationship just makes no sense, so expect something to happen on this front shortly after a deal involving Donovan Mitchell happens.
rumoured interest from rival teams about his services since his arrival in Utah, it’s safe to say that he likely won’t be around when the Jazz finally finish the rebuild that seems to be imminent.

All in all, Utah’s trade of Rudy Gobert was all about the picks they got in return, and while the players may be valuable, there’s no star among them, so whether Vanderbilt is moved for a late first/second round pick or if he plays for this squad, he’s not going to be too big of a deal. At this time, it’s more likely than not however that Jarred is flipped for some sort of a pick that Danny Ainge can try to hit on in the future, as this team just isn’t equipped to keep players like Vanderbilt with a low ceiling going forward through this rebuild.

avaliers would be interested in a move that involves Collin Sexton, but whichever team the Jazz get interested, it would be best for this franchise going forward to get away from that salary.

Next to Mitchell and Gobert as a third option, Conley was great, but with the expected trade to send Spida to the East, it’s just not feasible at this point in his career that Conley can be a first option, and Utah need to move off of him.

In three seasons with Utah, Mike Conley was everything the team wanted, putting up 15 PPG and being the leader this team needed, but for some reason, he avoids all criticism that the bigger stars get for a lack of playoff success. He’s not the reason the Jazz failed to take the next step, but unfortunately, he couldn’t fire when it mattered most, and perhaps with a team like Cleveland where he can be a veteran leader, perhaps off the bench, he should be able to come in and thrive for a young, up-and-coming playoff squad.
