Vernon Maxwell continues to chirp at the Utah Jazz via Twitter

Former Houston Rockets guard Vernon Maxwell has been on a major run of trolling the Utah Jazz and their fans recently.

If you’re a longtime fan of the Utah Jazz (or the NBA in general, really) you probably know all about Mad Max. No, not George Miller’s classic post-apocalyptic action flicks — I’m talking about Vernon Maxwell, who played with as much violence on the court as is offered in those movies.

Over the years, he had his battles with just about everyone, from Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley to Jazz greats John Stockton and Karl Malone, with whom he went toe-to-toe on many an occasion as a member of the Houston Rockets and the Sacramento Kings. And he’s still trolling the Jazz and their fans to this very day.

Mad Max took to Twitter on Sunday to offer up his autographed throwback jerseys in Rockets red and white. And as an added bonus, he’s offering special pricing to Jazz fans.

An unsigned top comes in at $100. For his signature on the shirt, you’ll have to toss in an extra 50-spot. For Jazz fans — the as-soon-step-on-you-as-look-at-you price of $500.

Clearly, there’s no love lost between Maxwell and the Jazz. In fact, he now has a long history of hitting Utah below the belt on social media to go along with everything that happened while he was still playing.

Before and during the Jazz-Rockets first-round series last month, he launched multiple shots at the Jazz faithful. Here are just a few of the highlights —

Cold-blooded. And then there was this gem from 2017 —

For which Maxwell offered the following apology —

That particular tweet is still pinned to the top of his Twitter profile. Ouch.

If you can look past some of his darker moments, which we won’t go into here, what you’ll find is one of the game’s greatest all-time characters and competitors; a master antagonist and trash talker for the ages.

It would seem those traits continue to define Maxwell to this very day. And I, for one, kind of dig it. You do you, Mad Max.
